Impact and Sustainability

By the end of 2024, we are projected to impact over 100,000 teenagers through our programs across the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon. Across the five programs we have already run, we have observed an average student improvement rate of 75% (we measure improvement by scores on diagnostic and final assessments). Graduates have said that they feel more familiar with computers because of the program, and more importantly, that they found a community with whom they enjoyed learning with.

We are also looking to make our model entirely sustainable beyond the near-term. With sufficient investment in the next two years, we hope to have graduates of First Byte programs return to teach future sessions. We’d also like to move away from hiring paid teachers, and toward working with volunteers from local universities to run classes.
